Angela Pressburger is a refugee from a British film establishment family who fell in love with Canada's west coast on a visit to Vancouver to introduce some of her father’s revered classics, which
include The Red Shoes and Black Narcissus as well as the newly released
A Matter of Life and Death (Stairway to Heaven in the US).
Angela has worked as an editor for illustrated books in London, England; an art catalogue editor in Washington, D.C.; a book publicist
for Shambhala Publications; and is a documentary filmmaker in her own
right. For the last ten years she has been an international program
consultant at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and has spoken
about film and sat on film juries in Europe and North America. She has
recently written Show It in Public! — a grassroots guide to showing
film in public (www.showamovie.ca) and keeps busy writing reviews for
her home video website, www.moonrisemovies.com
Angela currently makes her home in a hand-hewn log house on the
Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, a forty-minute ferry ride from
Vancouver.
